What to Do When Patients Threaten Violence Legal

Most patients are delighted with the work you do—but not all of them. When someone is unhappy, they may make their angst known with nasty phone calls, bitter voicemails, negative online reviews and complaints to licensing boards. But, on occasion, the anger morphs into violence, putting you, your staff and your patients at risk. This panel will discuss how to identify such patients in advance of a problem, what to do to de-escalate the conflict, how to call for help and how to harden your defenses.
